Stormcell® storage system
Flow control and flood protection

Store and infiltrate surface water and stormwater even on difficult or irregular sites.

Stormcell® is a high-capacity, low-maintenance modular stormwater and surface water storage system that can be customised to suit shallow, deep or irregular sites. Its flexible modular structure is light but strong, making it ideal for use beneath areas such as roads, car parks and industrial areas.

With a design that ensures that solids are washed through the pipework rather than into the storage area, the system requires very little maintenance.

Stormcell® is a high-capacity, low-maintenance modular stormwater and surface water storage system that can be customised to suit shallow, deep or irregular sites.

Its flexible modular structure is light but strong, making it ideal for use beneath areas such as roads, car parks and industrial areas, and a more lightweight version provides equivalent storage for less heavily trafficked areas such as landscaped environments.

Stormcell® requires no assembly or connectors, so installation on site is quick and easy.

A woven geotextile on the top and bottom of each block prevents the intrusion of fine solids, and the system is designed to ensure that solids are washed through the pipework rather than into the storage area, meaning that requires very little maintenance.

Stormcell® is only available in the UK and Ireland

Design storage for even the most difficult of sites

With standard and shallow sizes, a choice of durable and more lightweight variants and the ability to cut blocks on site, Stormcell® provides designers with the flexibility to customise storage to meet the requirements of shallow, deep or irregular sites.

Reduce your stormwater maintenance

The Stormcell® system is designed to prevent silting and other build-up of solids and debris typically carried in surface water and stormwater, meaning that the system requires virtually no maintenance.

Install quickly and easily

Stormcell® requires no assembly or connectors, so installation on site is quick and easy.

In the early stages of a storm event the flow passes through the system unrestricted. The distribution pipework below the Stormcell® blocks are part of the stormwater network and carry suspended particles and debris directly through the system. Each Stormcell® block has a woven geotextile layer on the top and bottom as a secondary defence against the intrusion of fines.

As flow increases during heavier storm events a flow control such as a Hydro-Brake® Optimum restricts the outflow, forcing excess water through the perforations in the distribution pipework and into the granular layer and Stormcell® blocks.

At the end of a storm event the stored water drains back through the granular layer, into the perforated pipework and on through the control manhole.

Q

What maintenance is required for a Stormcell® system?

A

The system that the Stormcell® blocks are used within is carefully designed to minimise any maintenance requirements.

Q

Can Stormcell® be used below roads or car parking areas?

A

Yes, it can. The structure is extremely strong but is designed to take distributed loads and not point loads. The depth that the Stormcell® is buried at dictates the maximum load that can be applied to it at surface level.
