Hydro International named in "Best Places To Work In Maine" list

Hydro International has been named in this year’s list of “Best Places To Work In Maine” for the second time in the past three years.

This program recognizes companies that have established outstanding workplace environments, and is endorsed by organizations such as Best Companies Group, the Maine State Chamber of Commerce and the Department of Economic and Community Development.

We understand how valuable our individual contribution is to our teammates, to the larger company and to the future of water quality. Sharing in that responsibility can be demanding but extremely rewarding," said Jim Newkirk, General Manager & Director at Hydro International’s Americas Stormwater Business. "We know that great work comes from engaged, informed and empowered employees so we work hard to give everyone here that experience.

In order to make the “Best Places” list, companies go through a thorough two-phase assessment by an independent assessor. Phase one involves an evaluation of company employee policies and procedures, and phase two comprises a 78-question employee survey covering areas such as role satisfaction, culture and communications, training, pay and benefits to gauge the sentiment of the workforce. These two assessments are then combined and evaluated with businesses that meet the required level making it onto the list.

We will be recognized and honored at the Best Places to Work in Maine awards ceremony on October 7 and will be profiled in a special publication by Mainebiz. The final rankings will be announced at the event.
