A reliable fine screening solution that protects downstream processes from damage and clogging.
The Noggerath® Rotary Drum Screen RSI‑RED is designed for installation at the inlet works of wastewater treatment plants, removing solids and debris from incoming flows. Its compact, combined design integrates screening, conveying and compaction into a single efficient unit, ensuring consistent performance and operational reliability.
The Noggerath® Rotary Drum Screen RSI‑RED is a compact system combining a screen drum, spiral conveyor and compactor in one machine. Installed at an angle of 35° within the channel, it delivers effective fine screening while optimising space at the inlet works.
A key feature of the system is its proven double‑drive concept. The screen drum and spiral conveyor are driven independently, removing the need for a rotating arm in the inlet area. This simplifies operation and improves accessibility for maintenance, while also allowing complete emptying of the conveyor trough without reliance on the drum.
This design enhances reliability and reduces wear, making it well suited to demanding wastewater applications where consistent screening performance is critical.
By removing solids and debris from the incoming flow, the Noggerath® Rotary Drum Screen helps safeguard downstream equipment and processes, ensuring efficient and reliable plant operation.
The patented Noggerath® Radial Eco Drive features an axially free discharge zone, minimising the risk of clogging. This reduces maintenance requirements and improves uptime.
Independent drives for the drum and conveyor screw reduce torsional stress, decreasing wear on components and extending service life while lowering maintenance costs.
Screenings larger than the screen opening are retained on the inner surface of the drum, gradually forming a layer on the screen. Once a predetermined upstream level is reached, the screen drum and screw conveyor begin to rotate independently.
As the drum rotates, the collected screenings are lifted upwards and then released by gravity. A spray bar assists this process, guiding the material into a centrally positioned conveyor trough inside the drum. The screw conveyor captures the screenings and transports them to the pressing zone.
At the same time, the rotating screw brushes continuously clean the inner surface of the drainage zone, preventing blinding of the screen.
In the pressing zone the screenings are compacted and dewatered prior to discharge for disposal or further treatment.
